Originally called Mouthwash for Pirates because it was insanely helpful for my pirate friends. From thrush and gingivitis to screaming all night at a rowdy concert in a smokey scene, this mouthwash was able to give them peace of mind and keep them from getting worse or screaming in pain. Many times this Mouthwash cured what they were ailed with.
Kissing doesn't have to be embarrassing anymore as this mouthwash directly combats the diseases and germs you are worried about when used twice daily each month. When you are simply using this as maintenance for a healthy mouth, you don't need to use it nearly so often to feel safe about your smooches.
Unlike commercial mouthwashes that taste like candy mints (whose idea of health was that?), our Mouthwash is an earthy blend of bitters with a refreshing zing. Every once in a while we will add a drop of peppermint to a batch, but rarely is that necessary and you'll only feel/taste a tiny hint of it when we do. It is not unpleasant, but if you expect minty "fresh," you may be shocked and need to relearn what Fresh really Is.
Mouthwash
Spring Water & Essential oils of Myrrh, Sweet Birch, Thyme, Melaleuca, Clove, Stevia, and occasionally some peppermint.
Let us discuss, first, Spring Water. You will notice I don't add water to any of my products. I despise the idea of fillers. We live in a world where we have access to Everything: hydrosols, extracts, juices, elixirs. Why would we choose water?? However, something needed to be the carrier, and I trust my alchemy, which includes the nerd brain (extra heavy in me) and the intuitive process of bringing prayer and blessings into the creation process. The blessings said water: not Rose Water, not Holy Water, not Firewaters, but Spring Water.
The nerd brain in me says Carrier Oils because the essential oils here dissolve best in carrier oils. IT takes a lot longer (or never, really) for some of these essentials to become part of the carrier (water in this case) if it's not an alcohol, oil, or lotion. I fought the nerd brain in me several times, because trusting that my clients will shake their jar before they swish is a big leap of faith. Please shake your mouthwash before use.
The nerd brain in me knows not to use alcohol because alcohol in a product causes little fissures just below the skin surface. Undetectable at first, these fissures make it seem like product is sinking in farther and better, but in reality they are cracking the integrity of your skin. Even in your mouth. Especially in your mouth. So, people with sensitive skins in their mouth do not need any extra alcohol in their products causing extra harm. But it does break the essential oils down well.
The product worked so well for so many people, but it took quite a long time to realize with my nerd brain the power of choosing Spring Water as the carrier. When I did, there was no second thought about it.
Firstly, I am a water nerd. Most water does not hydrate me. I search far and wide for the best water in the region every time I move. I want a clean source of bottled water for my own brain and body sometimes and for my products all the time. (I do use water often for my quick-fix local clientele when they have a need for something I don't already make and label.) So, I do have the best spring water sources with the cleanest filtration and the best hydration and uplifting qualities, and they don't have to be flown in from Greenland or Fiji.
Secondly, part of Alchemy is working with Synergy. Synergy in botanical medicine is when 1+1= much more than 2. For instance, when you have a cup of oregano whose power ay be 2 and a drop of oregano oil whose power may be 6, and you add them together in a grinder until thoroughly mixed, their combined power is now about 10. A similar example is Oregano and Thyme. They have similar properties, and let's say the power of Thyme to do its trick (a trick like thwarting the flu) is 3 and oregano for the same trick is 2, but together their synergistic power is about 8. Other synergistic effects aren't clearly quantifiable. Together, two botanicals can bring out a quality in each other that is not available with one alone.
In this mouthwash, the Synergy of Water with these essential oils wakes them up to cleanse, regenerate, flow happily, create happiness and brightness in the mouth, & to be awake and alert to their jobs. In oil they would be flat and dark, brash but quiet. I see the bratty coming out in them that could lead to a sour odor in the mouth, even if it became healthy. Should we add alcohol, these essential oils would become drunk with power, shouting to the world their arrogant pride at being so clean, powerful, smart, and strong. They do have good reason to be proud. These are absolutely outstanding in their fields. We are lucky to have access to them. They will always do the trick.
The refreshing, humble, loving, life-giving, laughing, cleansing, delightful nature of water synergistically shares all of those Spring Water qualities with these powerful medicines and they are more enjoyable for it. Swish your bottle so the essential oils can swim around and not stay stagnant too long. It's never been a problem, but I want you to have the highest value experience, so keep them all happy. When I sold this in the clear bottles you could see the rich dense luxurious thick layer of essential oils. As time moves forward, they do intersperse more, and the myrrh can stick more to the sides if not swirled occasionally to encourage interspersion.
The mouth is reflective of communication and therefore synergy and alchemy are inherent. As each droplet of essential oil and the sweet loving essence of Spring Water continue to inform each other and dance daily, so your communication also will be enhanced.

Myrrh - As a master herbalist, I would be remiss to leave myrrh out of any quality mouthwash formula. Especially my main mouthwash designed to gain control of any soft tissue issue, fill it full of impenetrable light, and dissolve its demons via its holy body chemistry. And so I added it, but my undercover secret reason for adding it is that it releases Suffering, fear, anxiety, depression, stress, difficult or painful experiences, judgement/dogma from ourselves onto others. And this is truly what I see when I look deeply into my pirate friends and see what is causing the root of the issue with their mouths. Maybe you have one or two of these issues to dissolve as well With myrrh coating the mouth, we seem to be our most straightforward selves; honesty is easier somehow.

Sweet Birch -
It's sweet and powerful. Salicylic acid and Methyl Salicylate are only the beginning of what this plant provides for the mouth and Hyman. So it is a powerful antiviral, microbial, bacterial, and antifungal. and pain reliever like myrrh but bright. It's wonderful with all sorts of ulcers and toxins and creates a beautiful effect with circulation and waking up the old deadened nerves. If there is any kind of puss eruption that needs to dissolve, Sweet Birch essential oil in the mouthwash will help that to happen in the mouth.
