Unlike anything in it's category, Rose Lotion was born of a commission to the improbable and a very expensive-seeming mistake.
The commission was to create a lotion that smells like rose without using any alcohols or fragrances (as is the mrale coe of this company). It seemed a seemingly impossible commission, but I take the commissions without any promises except to do my best and deliver something useable. I carefully considered the project a week or two and then gathered the best ingredients together for a lotion that would be everything a thousand rose petals should be to a botanical dermatologist. The world's best smelling rosewaters, rose essential oil, rose hip seed oil, and even rose cousins. My lab book was set with a couple ideas to try first, using the logic I had added to the project. My mind was open to see what the alchemy of the intention would beg of me. The "accident" happened as I began to drop the rose absolute into the blender without any eurodropper on the bottle, unbeknownst to me. Most essential oils need to be counted specifically to the drop or the batch can be ruined. Rose is more forgiving, as I found out this day, and she allowed me to be as generous with all the roses.
This generosity of Rose gifted us a product we couldn't have planned for.
The aroma is timeless and all who seek the rose have been delighted to find her.
From Victorian grandmothers to Arabian sheiks, this product has delighted those connessuiurs who have been looking a long time for this particular luxury. It is fresh as the first dozen roses from a new lover for a year. Some lost jars have been found up to six years later, slightly more condensed, and with the smell of ancient treasures of gold and rose, like the temple gifts of Egypt,
It's lightweight density is creamy and rich but a bit less protective in nature and a bit more playful than the other lotions in widemouth jars from this line. It's purpose was to pamper the princesses, and not to be a superb medicinal healer of terrified skins. This lotion is very popular, medicinally, tho, for crepe skin.
Be mindful that if you buy this jar for your friend with dementia, as some have, you may want to put it with bathroom objects as it has been confused with yogurt or ice cream. However, this smell does carry us back in time. It's very soothing. And, truly it's completely edible for even sensitive stomachs and restrictive diets, not that we recommend eating it, per se, as it is more valuable as a topical treatment. So, it does make a lovely gift for those who are sentimentally romantic for memories or who are challenged with memory problems.
Luxurious lightweight cream with the subtle unforced aroma of roses comes in a 4 oz thick heavy glass jar with smooth black PET lid. You will want to give them as gifts to the women in your life who savor the feminine touch. They will be ever grateful.
Rose lotion
Ingredients:
Potent Rose Water/Aloe Vera Leaf, NonGMO Virgin Grapeseed, Alaffia Shea Butter, Essential Oils (Rose, Frankincense, Palmarosa), and extract of organic grapefruit seeds.Rose Water: When made well this powerful astringent tonic is delightfully tonifying, hydrating, and refreshing for the skin cells. Pores tighten and purify, a hydration penetrates deeply.
Aloe vera leaf is a college precursor, an anti-inflammatory, and combats the effects of damaging sun exposure.
Grapeseed is gentle on all skins, high in vitamins and healthy fats, and has fairly neutral smells and medicines so it's great support to allow the roses to shine. The high vitamin E is one of the ingredients that allows this formula to last as long as a mummy. The nonGMO grape keeps us consistent with the Mediterranean undertones of the full product.
Shea and Beewax keep a protective barrier on the skin, helping to trap in the medicinal properties and bind them to the deeper layers of the skin rather than simply evaporate as if it were an alcohol or water based lotion. Together they contribute to the unnaturally long shelf life, the deeper undertones of scent, and the suppliers have been especially selected because they have the most potent products, medicinally and spend money so their local economies thrive from the grassroots up.
Grapefruit Seeds are neither peel nor fruit so they don't contribute to the rumored downfalls from sun exposure or pharmaceutical prescription. It's a powerful antioxidant, cleanser, and tonifier. Originaly added to help extend the shelf life, it does enhance the cleansing effects of the rose and add to the Mediterranean qualities.
Rose Hip Seed Oil: Some menapausal women with wonderful skin without wrinkle swear by rose hip seed oil. Many say they have used it since way before perimenopause. I have never seen it enhance my skin, so I often wonder if it's a combination of ingredients or if its simply certain skin types that make it a miracle product. At any rate, it doesn't hurt us so I thought I'd make sure we have a full spectrum rose product as much as possible.
Rose Absolute: Mostly we added the rose absolute so it would smell like roses. That was the commission and I didn't question it much, except to be curious what would really happen. What really happened is that a bunch of women fell in love with the feminine qualities of this lotion and the gentle care on the skin therein.
I have written an essential oil book and rose is queen of the throne. She shas, literally, the highest frequency an essential oil has ever measured by far, and so is rumored by some fanatics to be able to cure or prevent any disease simply by the might of it's wavelengths. Sticking to the skin benefits, Rose absolute can help with: signs of aging like wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, dullness, and dryness. Roses are moisturizing: Rejuvenating tonifying rose absolute can help with both dry skin and oily/blemish-prone skin. Anti-inflammatory Rose Absolute can improve skin barrier function and reduce transdermal water. Rejuvenating Rose absolute can improve skin texture. Rose . absolute can help with broken capillaries and scarring.
Frankincense Essential OIl may be King. Cleansing and smoothing for the skin, no quality skin lotion should be without it. It is essential to buy from an ethical source and to trace the source all the way back to the farmer and check in to see if their trees are being overharvested and that they are getting paid a good wage for the damage to their trees that don't just "grow back
Frankincense oil can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, and slow down the damage caused by photoaging. It can also help reduce the appearance of scars and stretch marks. Frankincense essential oil helps retain moisture, making it a good choice for dry or aging skin. Frankincense promotes cell renewal which replaces damaged or aging cells, and an astringent quality tones the skin. Frankincense oil has antioxidant properties that can help protect the skin from free radical damage, and anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin, which are key factors in premature aging."
Palmarosa: As I researched Palmarosa for my essential oil book, it became clear that many people substitute Palmarosa for Rose. Aroma-wise this is crude and degrading as Palmarosa is harsh, frank, and frankly a little bit stank. Clearly I would never pretend Palmarosa was a rose. However, the more I studied the more I realized that Palmarosa may do some of Rose's jobs even better than Rose Herself. Palmarosa essential oil adds radiance, rejuvenation, improved skin texture, proection against invaders from fungus to free radicals. Some of my sources saw better results from the two together than one individually. Some part of me did not want to add this ingredient simply for the principal that we should not dilute rose with palmarosa. But a more important part of me had a strong feeling that Palmarosa Belongs here. And I do believe, after all these years of playing with the product, I am correct, and very glad to have Palmarosa as part of the team. She's definitely not diluted next to the outstanding amount of rose that is in the lotion. The ratio of rose to palmarosa in this formula is probably 80 drops rose to 1 drop palmarosa.
